Orlando Police Recover Drugs, AR Pistol after Suspect Fled Traffic Stop

The Orlando Police Department announced officers recovered cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis and an AR pistol after a suspect fled a traffic stop and was ultimately caught.




On August 3, 2023, Officers were conducting proactive patrol near Silver Star Road and N. Pine Hills Road. According to law enforcement, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle that was driving suspiciously.

OPD said the vehicle fled from the stop, but surrounding units were able to surveil the vehicle. A short time later, the vehicle was stopped on I-4 after another vehicle crashed into it and the driver bailed out. He was apprehended while running through a BMW dealership.

Approximately 150 grams of Cocaine, 4.7 grams of Methamphetamine and 10 grams of Cannabis were located in the vehicle along with an AR Pistol.

The driver was arrested and charged accordingly, OPD stated.

Local crime, guns, and drugs all remain problems around Orlando and downtown under Mayor Buddy Dyer. Police remind all residents to remember, “See Something, Say Something” by calling Crimeline or 9-1-1.
