An investigation is underway into an Orlando police officer shooting, which left one man dead and another in custody.
The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Palmas Alta Apartments in the 5900 block of Pershing Avenue.
While two undercover drug detectives were doing a follow-up investigation at the apartment complex, they saw two men firing guns.
Upon investigating this incident, a confrontation ensued between the undercover detectives and the two men, leading one of the officers to open fire killing one of the men. Â The other was taken into custody.
The identities of the men are unknown at this time, Orlando Police Department said.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting an investigation into the officer involved shooting.
Both officers, who have not been identified, were placed on paid administrative leave, as is customary.
