The Orlando Police Department announced an arrest in a recent Dover Gardens Apartments fatal shooting.
According to local police, on October 12, 2023 at approximately 6:11pm, OPD received a 911 call about a loud disturbance at 5037 Gardens Place (Dover Gardens Apartments). A second call was received stating an individual had been killed inside of an apartment.
Arriving officers located the unconscious victim inside the doorway to the apartment with several gunshot wounds. The victim succumbed to his injuries.
The Central Florida homicide victim was identified as 34-year-old Dexter Eugene Owens.
On October 31, 2023, 25-year-old Trevon Anthony Lamons was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder with a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Shooting into a Dwelling in connection to this shooting.
