Police say they have identified the gunman who killed Alex Mazzan as he walked in the Lucerne Terrace downtown Orlando last month.
Brixten Dyer, 29, Â homicide detectives say, is Mazzan’s killer. Detectives also say, since June 6, Dyer has been in the Orange County Jail on a no bond status for unrelated armed robberies.
Mazzan, 20, was walking with another male in the Lucerne Terrace area downtown Orlando after visiting someone in the hospital when he was killed on the evening of May 19.
Police believe that the shooting was a random act as Mazzan and Dyer were unknown to each other. It followed a verbal altercation with Dyer and others in a vehicle passing by.
Mazzan’s friend was unhurt in the shooting.
Homicide investigators are currently working with prosecutors at the State Attorney’s Office to officially bring charges against Brixten Dyer for this murder.
