Orlando crime statisticsA key highlight for OPD from the past year is the overall reduction in crime within the City of Orlando. In 2024, OPD made significant progress in addressing violent crime through proactive policing strategies.

This effort contributed to a 40% reduction in homicides, with the total number decreasing from 38 in 2023 to 23 in 2024. Additionally, the Orlando Police Department achieved a 96% solve rate by the end of the year.
