Four suspects are behind bars for a string of burglaries in the College Park and Rosemont neighborhoods, Orlando Police officers said. Two of the suspects, a female driver and the lone man arrested today have also been charged with attempted homicide on a Law Enforcement Officer after they tried to flee, almost hitting one of officers with a motor vehicle.
The three woman and one man arrested on Tuesday are:
- Donovan V. Thomas, 22 years
- Rebekah K. Wright, 21
- Sharee N. Colbert, 27
- Deanna D. Doctor, 20 years. (No photo available)
Police arrested all four suspects in the Edgewater and King Street area today, after they identified a black Lincoln Navigator connected to an attempted burglary on Dunwoody Place on November 20th. The Lincoln Navigator, which carried a tag not assigned to the vehicle, was stopped by police.
Police said that after the stop and during the investigation, the passenger in the front of the vehicle, Donovan Thomas rolled up the windows and locked the doors and told the female driver, Sharee Colbert to flee. However, Colbert, in attempting to flee in the direction of the officers, placed the vehicle in neutral instead of drive. The officers were able to jump out of the way and subsequently managed to pull the key from the ignition. The other passengers in the back seat of the vehicle were, Rebekah Wright and Deanna Doctor. Also, in the vehicle were a 3-month and 2-month-old baby.
All four occupants were taken into custody. The babies were turned over the family members.
Police said that Doctor and Wright are connected to a residential burglary on 2 West Steel Street on November 24th, in which an American Bulldog was stolen. Other items removed from the victim’s residence at the time of the burglary included, two television, three laptop computers and a handgun.
Doctor and Wright face charges related to dealing in stolen property.
Thomas and Colbert were charged with attempted homicide on Law Enforcement Officers, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and resisting officers without violence.
The four suspects are in the Orange County Jail.
