Deputies: Orlando Meth Lab Busted, Three Arrested

Orange County Sheriff’s detectives busted an active meth lab on Sunshine Street on Friday, arresting three persons and charging them with trafficking and manufacturing of methamphetamine, among other charges.

According to OCSO:

On Friday September 10, 2010 Narcotics Agents with the assistance of SWAT and the Clandestine Lab Response Team (CLRT) executed a search warrant at a suspected methamphetamine lab at 6324 Sunshine Street in Orlando.  Investigators said that two of the suspects, Amanda Smith and Jennifer Durkin, tried to flee the home through the carport area, but were subsequently detained and arrested.

As the warrant was executed, SWAT recognized an active methamphetamine lab within the residence, and subjects were removed from the location. Once the residence was secured, CLRT entered and safely mitigated a large Red Phosphorus lab.

Detectives seized 338 grams (28.2 ounces) of methamphetamine (finished product and in solution); twenty three 5 gallon buckets, one 55 gallon drum, and one large solid waste bag of chemicals and equipment associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.

The following persons were arrested and charged:

Luis Guerrero, 46 years
Charges: Trafficking Methamphetamine, Manufacturing of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Listed Chemicals with intent to manufacture

Amanda Smith, 27 years
Charges: Sale and Delivery of Methamphetamine, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Manufacturing of Methamphetamine, Possession of Listed Chemicals with intent to manufacture

Jennifer Durkin, 27 years
Charges: Trafficking Methamphetamine, Manufacturing of Methamphetamine, Possession of Listed Chemicals with intent to manufacture.

All three defendants were booked into the Orange County Jail.
