An Orlando motorcyclist was killed in a crash on State Road 50 on Tuesday night, Florida Highway Patrol said.
20-year-old Alvin Espinal was heading west on SR 50, just before 8:30 pm, on a 2005 Suzuki Mitsubishi motorcycle, when he slammed into the back of a Ford Ranger that had just pulled out of a parking lot.
Witnesses told troopers that Espinal, who was wearing a helmet, was traveling at a high rate of speed.
Espinal was taken to Florida Hospital East, where he was pronounced dead. Troopers are awaiting toxicology results to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash.
57-year-old David Rugg, of Oviedo, who was driving the Ford Ranger, was not hurt as a result of the crash.
Troopers are continuing with their investigation and charges are pending.
