A 33-year-old Orlando man was arrested yesterday, accused of credit card fraud, police said.
Josue Morales of Bent Pine Drive was taken into custody and charged with theft by obtaining credit cards fraudulently, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and criminal use of personal information.
Orlando police say, Morales, who lives at Camden Lago Vista Apartments, would capture credit card numbers of unsuspecting victims and then recode the stolen card numbers onto blank cards and defraud banks, stores and credit card companies. Police believe Morales used servers at local restaurants to “skim” the credit cards of his victims.
A search of Morales’ apartment on Monday morning turned up several evidentiary items and two guns, one of which was reported stolen, police say.
Anyone who might be a victim and believes their credit card has been “skimmed” is asked to call the Orlando Police Department and file a report.
Police said, the investigation is ongoing and Morales could face additional charges.
