For the second consecutive year, the Orlando Magic Youth Fund, a McCormick Foundation Fund (OMYF-MFF), handed over checks totaling $1 million to 19 grantee organizations in Orange, Seminole and Osceola County.
“We are proud to be able to assist these very deserving organizations who work tirelessly to improve the lives of youth in Central Florida,” said Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins. “It is only possible through a collaborative effort of this community, the DeVos family, our players, coaches, staff, corporate partners and season ticket holders that we are capable of distributing $1 million for the second consecutive year. We especially want to recognize and thank those who work every day with the youth of our community…they are the true heroes.”
The 2012 grant recipients: Adult Literacy League, Apopka Family Learning Center (Justice & Peace Office), Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida, Bridges of Light Foundation, Community Coordinated Child Care (4C), Early Learning Coalition, Foster Grandparent Program, Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools, Inc, Foundation for Seminole State College of Florida, Foundation of Osceola Education, GROWS Literacy Council, Hope CommUnity Center, The Conductive Education Center of Orlando, Gift of Swimming, Orlando Health Foundation (Howard Phillips Center), Boys’ Town of Central Florida, Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Osceola Council on Aging.
Over the last 22 years, nearly $17 million has been distributed to local non-profit community organizations via the Orlando Magic Youth Fund.
