Orlando Magic Win Two Major Awards at NBA

The defending Eastern Conference Champion Orlando Magic made its mark at the box office, winning two major awards at the recently concluded NBA Sales and Marketing Meetings held Jan. 10-12 in Brooklyn, New York.

The Magic won the “Most New Season Tickets Sold” Award, and was honored as one of eight teams to win “10,000+ Season Tickets Sold” accolades.  The Magic sold an NBA-best 5,017 new season tickets for the current season, thus eclipsing 10,000 season tickets.

Coming off its trip to the NBA Finals, the Magic did not raise season ticket prices for this year. All told, there were 7,500 seats priced $25 or under per game, as well as $10 tickets.

Orlando will open next year in the new Amway Center and has already announced it will continue its practice of affordable pricing options.  Ticket highlights for 2010-2011 in the new Amway Center include:

·         2,500 seats priced $15 or less, 7,000 seats priced $25 or less, and 10,000 seats priced $50 or under per game, while supplies last.

·         For the first time ever the introduction of a $5 per game ticket (more than 600 available).

“One of our objectives is to find ways to make our games accessible to as many people as possible, while delivering more value to ticket holders than ever before,” said Orlando Magic Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins. “With 7,000 seats priced $25 or under and the introduction of a $5 ticket, coupled with premium amenities available to all levels of ticket buyers, we are looking forward to providing a legendary experience for all our fans.”

The new Amway Center will feature more value than ever before. All patron price levels will have access to premium amenities in the Amway Center such as:

·         Nutrilite Magic Fan Experience and Orlando Info Garden

·         Kid’s Zone

·         North Terrace Bar; Terrace Sign Bar; Ozone Bar; Sky Bar

·         Multiple, wider concourses with convenient access to concession stands and restrooms

·         Improved sightlines for all locations and wider seats

·         Unmatched technology, featuring 1,000 digital monitors and the largest, high-definition scoreboard in an NBA arena.

·         A environmentally-friendly and LEED-certified building

·         Accessible seating in all seating levels and for all seating products
