Orlando Magic Senior Vice President Pat Williams has been diagnosed with a medical condition known as multiple myeloma, a form of cancer of the blood, a statement from the Orlando Magic said.
The medical condition was discovered during an executive physical just six weeks after Williams underwent his yearly physical. Williams’ doctors are confident that the disease was detected in the early stages.
Williams’ treatment consists of an aggressive program overseen by Dr. Robert Reynolds, one of the area’s leading hematology and oncology experts.
William is expected to maintain his schedule, attend Magic games, community events and media appearances.
