The Orlando Magic, in a surprise ceremony on Wednesday, gave out $1 million to 19 charities in Central Florida.

The grants, raised through the Orlando Magic Youth Fund (OMYF), were matched with funds from the McCormick Foundation and presented to the grantee organizations at the Amway Center at the January 19, Magic versus Sixers matchup.

The OMYF helps children in Central Florida realize their full potential, especially those most at-risk, by supporting programs and partnerships that empower families and change lives.

The 2011 recipient organizations, included Hope Foundation for the Homeless, Orlando Ballet, Florida Hospital for Children,  Coalition for the Homeless and Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.  Harbor House was one of five organizations that received a $100,000 grant.
