Orlando Magic concludes contest with new Kia Soul

As part of the Orlando Magic’s 20th Anniversary celebration this season, the Magic teamed up with Kia Motors America (KMA) and EMBARQ to give away fantastic prizes to Orlando Magic fans. The contest, which ran from March 6-April 5, 2009, concluded with the presentation of a new 2010 Kia Soul urban passenger vehicle to the grand prize winner, Elisa LaMotta of Orlando, at the Orlando Kia West location on Wednesday, April 29.  Brett Myers, Kia’s Central Florida District Manager, was present to turn the Kia Soul keys over to LaMotta.

At the conclusion of the month-long promotion, nine lucky winners were drawn at random from thousands of entrants to participate in an on-court presentation during Fan Appreciation Night on April 15. During that regular season finale game, all nine participants took to the court for the culmination of the contest, where each was asked to select a silver briefcase held by an Orlando Magic Dancer. After every contestant selected a case, they were opened to reveal which prize each had won. The eight prizes provided by EMBARQ were a Sanyo 42” HDTV, an HP Pavilion laptop, an iTouch, a Canon Power Shot Digital Camera, a NUVI Swiss Garmin, an XBOX 360, a Nintendo Wii and a Playstation 3, while the grand prize of a Kia Soul was awarded to LaMotta.

The FANtastic Prizes Sweepstakes was only one of the events surrounding the Magic’s 20th Anniversary. Other special events included an Orlando Magic Dancers Reunion on March 15 vs. the Utah Jazz, the revealing of the top-20 Magic Moments fan vote that took place throughout the season during a special one-hour edition of Inside the Magic, and the “Walk of Fans” at Amway Arena, which honored all 843 loyal season ticket holders that have been with the team all 20 years with a special sticker that had their name in the 20th anniversary logo stuck down to the floor of the concourse throughout the last month of the regular season.

The all-new 2010 Soul stands out from the crowd with modern, unique styling aimed toward the young and young-at-heart. Designed by Kia Motors’ Southern California-based design team, Soul offers a unique combination of style, value and personalization options, including an available Audio Upgrade Package that includes speaker lights that can pulse to the beat of the music or add mood lighting to the interior cabin.  Available in four distinctive trim levels, Soul, Soul+, Soul! and Soul sport, Soul pricing begins at less than $14,000 and is on sale at Kia retailers nationwide.

All four Orlando Kia dealerships were a part of the promotion: Longwood Kia, City Kia, Orlando Kia East and Orlando Kia West.
