Orlando International Airport Unveils New Veterans Memorial

The Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA), Frank Kruppenbacher; United States Senator Bill Nelson, Congressman John Mica, GOAA Executive Director Phil Brown and board members of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority all joined together to unveil a new permanent Veterans Memorial at Orlando International Airport.

As part of the annual 4th of July, Liberty Weekend celebration, hosted in conjunction with the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Orlando International Airport, the community paid tribute to our armed forces and veterans with this year’s theme “The Spirit of Liberty.”

The annual event transforms the airport’s Hyatt Hotel atrium into a concert hall; complete with festive 4th of July decorations, color guard and patriotic performance by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Hundreds of local residents and travelers from all around the world joined in the festivities and were given American flags to help celebrate the holiday.
