Orlando Home-ownership gets Boost with New $7 Million Grant Program

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and representatives of Wells Fargo and InCharge Debt Solutions will unveil Thursday, a new initiative designed to boost home-ownership.

NeighborhoodLIFTSM, as the program is known, will offer down payment assistance grants of up to $15,000 to qualified homebuyers.

Designed to help people achieve homeownership, overall some $7 million in grants and program funds are being be made available to the City of Orlando.

NeighborhoodLIFTSM will include a two-day event that will take place July 13 and 14 at the Orange County Convention Center where prospective homebuyers may qualify for up to $15,000 in down payment assistance and/or home and renovation financing grants.

In addition, prospective home buyers will be able to take advantage of home buyer education sessions and tours of selected residential properties that are available for sale in the City of Orlando.

Wells Fargo will collaborate with the City of Orlando and the non-profit organization NeighborWorks America and its local affiliate, InCharge Debt Solutions, to execute the program.

NeighborhoodLIFTSM is the first of its kind in the banking industry.
