Orlando Home Invasion Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder

In the middle of June at approximately 2am, Orlando police officers responded to a home invasion in progress on Mallard Pond Ct. A male suspect had entered the back patio of the victim’s home.

When confronted by the homeowner, the suspect armed himself with a pair of branch cutters and began attacking the homeowner, striking him in the head. The suspect then entered the house, attacking more adults inside. He stole their cellphones and money and then fled the scene.

Orlando Police Department Violent Crimes Detectives canvassing the area later that day noticed Orange County Sheriff’s Office partners interacting with a male who matched the description of the home invasion suspect. The male was identified as Lyndell Demps, according to police.

OPD detectives were able to link some of Demps’ belongings and clothing to the home invasion robbery.

Demps was placed under arrest and charged with Attempted Murder, Home Invasion Robbery, Kidnapping (x3), and several other felonies, according to law enforcement.
