Congresswoman Corrine Brown (District 3) announced Monday Parramore is on track to receive a $10 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The funds will extend the LYNX system for an additional 2.1 miles of bus rapid transit to connect to the existing 2.5 miles.
The extension of LYNX is part of the “Creative Village-Moving Parramore Forward” project, an urban transit development that incorporates the area of Orlando’s old Amway Arena.
Brown said the new funding “will go a long way towards improving the mobility of residents, as well as provide access to new jobs and industry that the project will bring to Parramore.”
