With Memorial Day just five weeks away, average retail gasoline prices in Orlando have fallen 4.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.37/g Sunday and 22.4 cents per gallon lower than one month ago, according to GasBuddy.com, a gasoline price website.
Nationwide, the national average has fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.50/ gallon and dropped 14.5 cents per gallon during the last month, the gasoline price website also said.
“The slow trend downward in the national average price has survived another week, much to the delight of motorists who are used to large spikes in gasoline prices that come with the territory of springtime,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. Although this is unprecedented, DeHaan expects that prices will likely continue to lag behind year ago levels up until Memorial Day.
