The driver of a moped was killed late last night on Bumby Avenue, when an oncoming car turned into his direct path, Florida Highway Patrol said.
28-year-old Justin Charles, of Orlando, was pronounced dead at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The accident happened just before mid-night on Saturday.
Troopers say, a 1998 Ford SUV, heading south on Bumby Avenue was attempted to make a left turn onto Curry Ford Road and traveled into direct path of the moped, which was going north on Bumby Avenue. The moped struck the right corner of the SUV, troopers said.
Charles, who was driving a 2008 Chua moped, was taken to ORMC where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the SUV, 21-year-old Joseph Santiago, was not injured in the crash.
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
