Orlando Cops Fire on Suspect in Felony “Take Down”

Two Orlando police officers are on administrative leave, after shots were fired during a felony take-down in a Target parking lot on East Colonial Drive. on Sunday afternoon.

According to OPD, police were investigating a felony organized crime ring when about 3:38 pm, on Sunday, November 21, OPD TAC Unit was involved in a felony take-down of a white van in the Target parking lot, in the 3200 block on east Colonial Drive.  Investigators said that during the felony take down shots were fired by Orlando police officers.

The suspect was taken to a local area hospital for treatment and is reported to be in critical condition.  Investigators have determined that the van was stolen and the electronic property in the van appears to have been fraudulently obtained.

The two police officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave.

OPD has not released the name of the suspect or the two police officers involved in the shooting.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating the use of force by the police officers.

The investigation is ongoing.
