Orlando City Council to Green Light DPAC Agreement

Rendition of theater in Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will on Monday present, for approval by the Orlando City Council, the proposed agreement on the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (DPAC).

The City Council will vote on five items that will allow the construction of the Dr. Phillips Center to begin, almost immediately.

On Monday morning, Dyer and the City Council will hear a presentation entitled, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Project presented by Byron Brooks, Chief Administrative Officer; Rebecca Sutton, Chief Financial Officer and Trey Nobles, Assistant District Manager of PCL Construction.

Last week, after months of uncertainty, Dyer and the DPAC Board agreed on a new plan for the financing of the Performing Arts Center, expected to generate around 3,000 Orlando-area jobs and an economic impact of more than $315 in the first stage of development.

The Orlando City Council will vote on the agreement at 2:00 pm, today at the Council Chamber.
