Tonight, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will join with City Commissioners, the Orlando Police Department, Orlando Fire Department and Orlando residents to celebrate the 32nd Annual National Night Out. The annual National Night Out event helps to increase Neighborhood Watch participation by promoting the work that police, residents and businesses do together to make Orlando neighborhoods safer and better places to live.
Dyer will lead a caravan along with Orlando Police Chief John Mina and Orlando Fire Chief Roderick Williams to present awards to the three Neighborhood Watch parties selected as the first, second and third place winners in the National Night Out theme contest. This year’s National Night Out theme is “Crime and Drugs- Not on My Block!” The winners include:
- First place: St. Mark AME Church
- Second place: Block of Monte Carlo Trail
- Third place: Colonialtown Neighborhood Center
