The Orlando Ballet will announce its 2014/15-season line-up during this weekend’s performances of Carmen and Beauty & The Beast at Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre. The season will honor the company’s rich tradition as well as its vision for the future and has something for everyone – supporters of the classics as well as fans of the new.

The 2014/15 programing will begin with the return engagement of the fan favorite Vampire’s Ball from October 17-19th in the season’s last weekend of performances at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre. Performed to sold-out audiences in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 season, this production will be marketed as an add-on bonus to season subscribers.

Kicking off Orlando Ballet’s new beginnings at The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is the perennial favorite and holiday classic The Nutcracker with live orchestration by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra from December 19-21st. This production will continue to delight children and adults alike.

Beginning in January, the Main-stage Season will see a return of the all time classical favorite Swan Lake on the weekend of January 23 to 25th.

Battle of The Sexes will escalate and seize new territories in the evolution of the trilogy that bears Robert Hill’s signature. Featuring new choreography and renowned guest choreographers, the show will showcase new artistic vision and the future of dance at Orlando Ballet, from March 6-8th.

The 2014/15 season concludes with Coppelia, a whimsical story of a doll coming to life, from May 1-3rd. Considered as one of ballet’s greatest comedies, this classic production will charm the entire family.

The Family Series performances continue to delight families in one-hour productions and feature full sets and costumes and company dancers. This season Orlando Ballet presents Peter & The Wolf, The Swan Princess, and The Magical Princess Doll, all classic fairy tales, as well as an abbreviated production of The Nutcracker that features all the favorite elements of the full production.

Orlando Ballet will continue its intimate behind-the-scenes program of Uncorked! at The Abbey in downtown Orlando, on September 30th, January 13th, and March 24th. These one-hour programs expose audiences to works in progress as well as give insight to the choreographic process.

Also returning next year is the Ballet’s collaboration with Cirque Du Soleil in A Choreographers’ Showcase. This partnership fosters artistic growth in the companies’ performers by giving them the opportunity to create new works. Performance is at La Nouba Theatre in Downtown Disney, on February 23, 2015.
