O,R&L Facility Services Sponsors Third Annual Basketball Clinic in Winter Park

Central Florida youths participate in second annual basketball clinic in Winter Park

Orlando-based O,R&L Facility Services – Owens Realty Services is teaming up with Winning Ways International, a Central Florida-based basketball program, to sponsor the 3rd annual “Rising Stars Basketball Clinic” on August 3-4 at the Winter Park Community Center.

The free camp will serve nearly 300 Central Florida residents ages 8-18 — focusing on life skills and teamwork. Open spots are still available and interested participants can pick up a registration form at the Winter Park Community Center or contact Krissie D’Abate at [email protected] or (407) 681-2000 ext. 232. The event aims to attract a diverse group of students from a variety of backgrounds.

In 2010, O,R&L Facility Services and Owens Realty Services hosted a free youth basketball clinic with Winning Ways in the Parramore area.

“We recognize that today’s young people are tomorrow’s entrepreneurs and business leaders, which is why we invest in programs like the ‘Rising Stars Basketball Clinic,’” said Bob Owens, President/CEO of O,R&L Facility Services and Anne Millians-Roche, President of Owens Realty Services.

Winning Ways basketball programs teach more than just athletic technique. With nearly 30 years of experience, Barry Mestel, president and CEO, takes participants “from the backboard to the boardroom” by relating on-court techniques to off-court life skills. Attendees will learn about nutrition, teamwork, facing adversity and the importance of academic excellence.

“O,R&L Facility Services and Owens Realty Services saw the need for our program in the Central area and called on us to help,” said Mestel. “We are fortunate to partner with them and are confident that our program will have a positive impact on these children.
