SWAT teams were called just after 3:00 am, on Thursday to Orange County’s east side in connection with an armed barricaded suspect.
Investigators said, a 911 caller advised that her husband attempted to harm himself with a knife inside their home on Sagebrush Place. The woman advised that her husband was inside armed with a shotgun and that three teenage kids were in the home as well.
Deputies established an inner and outer perimeter and several residences near the home were evacuated.
Investigators said, just after 8:30 am, one of the teenagers exited the home unharmed and at 9:00 am, the remaining teenagers exited the residence.
Several commands via a PA system were given to the suspect to exit the home, but he refused. Further attempts to contact the suspect were made, investigators said.
After the suspect made an obscene gesture from the bedroom window, the SWAT team deployed gas into the house.
Deputies said, the suspect then exited the residence and initially resisted arrest, but was secured and Baker Acted.
