A woman was shot and killed early this morning as she lay sleeping in bed.
The shooting occurred at 5620 Balboa Drive, just after 1:00 a.m., on Wednesday.
The deceased is 50-year-old Marie Lionel.
Orange County Sheriff’s investigators say, Lionel’s boyfriend advised that, the two were asleep in the bedroom when he heard a gunshot come through the rear window. He subsequently discovered that Lionel had been shot.
Orange County Fire Rescue also arrived on the scene and pronounced Lionel deceased.
