Orange County to Help Residents with Money for Solar Energy

Learn how to receive over $200 and discover ways to save even more!  Orange County, along with Progress Energy, OUC (Orlando Utilities Commission), and FLERA (Florida Local Environmental Resource Agency), is offering free workshops for residents and business owners interested in saving by using solar hot water systems for their home or business located in Orange County.

A Solar Hot Water System Incentive Workshop is scheduled for October 11, 2008 at the Orange County Extension Education Center, 6021 S Conway Road, 32812.  The workshop will be from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M.  Registration is required: register via e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at 407-836-1400.

Workshop attendees will learn about solar hot water systems, saving money through energy efficiency, and financial incentives from local, state and federal agencies.  Staff will be present to assist with applications.
With the current high gas prices and the likelihood that energy costs will continue to increase, many residents are noticing a pinch on their wallets.  Orange County offers a means to financial and environmental save by harnessing the power of the sun.

For more information on the Solar Hot Water System Incentive Program or workshops, visit www.ocfl.net/OrangeToGreen. Attending a workshop is not a requirement of the incentive program.

  1. This is great! All of the rebates and incentives have made it affordable for me to install a solar water heater. After the rebates, it’s going to pay for itself in about three years, and then I’ll be heating my water (reducing my electric bill by about $20/month) for free for another 20-40 years!
