The School Board of Orange County voted unanimously Monday night to approve a one time bonus for administrators, professional employees and food service managers, in lieu of a salary increase for the 2011-2012 school year.

Employees hired on or before January 15, 2011 are eligible for $750 while employees hired prior to July 1, 2011 will receive $375.  Those hired prior to October 30, 2011 will get $250.   Half-time employees are eligible for half of these amounts. This bonus will be reflected in paychecks dated March 21, 2012.

For the 2012-2013 school, employees will receive at least a 1.53 percent increase to their daily rate of pay effective July 1, 2012.

There will be no deduction for the Basic health care plans and the Premium plans will remain unchanged at $18.64 per pay period, according to a statement released by the School Board.

In 2010-2011, employees received a 1.8 percent increase based on their current status.   A $500 bonus was paid in 2008-2009.
