Orange County Sheriff’s Office Cracks Down on Illegal Street Activity

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to crack down on local illegal street activity, including street racing and intersection takeovers. More than 100 people have been arrested in just the last two months, according to local law enforcement.

Local law enforcement said that tn the last two months, OCSO has made 106 arrests, issued over 500 tickets, and impounded 37 vehicles. Those numbers represent just a fraction of the overall illegal street activity problem around Orlando and Central Florida.

“If you come to Orange County to engage in illegal street racing, intersections takeovers, or spectate those events, you will be ticketed or arrested, and your vehicle impounded,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Using somewhat aggressive language, the OCSO warned anyone who does this illegal activity in Orange County that “you will go to jail,” and they added that if someone attempts to flee, “when we catch you, your vehicle belongs to us.”

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office also emphasized that “we are not done.” Members of the community can report illegal street racing and intersection takeovers to the OCSO, Orlando police, or other local law enforcement.
