Orange County Nutritious Meals Program Moves into High Gear

The Orange County Summer Break Spot Program is well underway at various sites across the county. The program provides free nutritious meals for children under 18 years of age throughout the summer.

The program is sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture Summer Food Service Program, Orange County Public Schools, Florida Hospital and the Orlando Magic.

To identify a location nearest you, go to: www.summerfoodflorida.org or call: 2-1-1 to find a feeding site.

If your non-profit organization is interested in becoming a site to serve summer meals in your community, please contact the Florida Department of Education to get contact information for your local SFSP sponsor, who would provide the meals to your site: 1-800-504-6609. While many sponsors are still accepting site applications, others have ended the application process for the summer.
