Orange County deputies have arrested a man who they say robbed two women and attempted to rob a third within a seven-hour period. The most recent incident occurring around 1:30 a.m., Tuesday morning.
Charles Heineman, 25, of Bithlo was taken into custody earlier today. He has been charged with attempted robbery with a weapon and aggravated battery.
Heineman is believed to have followed a woman through the Walmart at 11250 E. Colonial Drive on Tuesday, and grabbed her purse as she walked to her car. Â The day before, investigators say, he followed another female out of the same Walmart store, distracted her by asking a question and reached inside her vehicle and snatched her purse.
A third robbery attempt at the Regal Cinema at 541 N. Alafaya Trail on Tuesday failed, after Heineman pepper-sprayed a woman in the face and attempted to take her purse.
Heineman is being held on a $15,000 bond at the Orange County Jail.
