All Orange County library cardholders can now access ASLdeafined, a resource for learning American Sign Language (ASL).
ASLdeafined offers video lessons for anyone looking to learn ASL, regardless of age. Whether you have a deaf loved one, are deaf yourself, or simply seeking to learn ASL, the Orange County library says this is for you.
You can find this resource by visiting the “Learning and Research” page on ocls.org. ASLdeafined was added under the “Language Learning” section on April 1st.
The Orange County library system also offers a variety of ASL (American Sign Language) classes at various branches.
To access ASLdeafined, Orange County library cardholders will need to enter their library card number and PIN for authentication.
Orange County Library System provides Information, Imagination and Inspiration to more than four million Central Florida visitors annually. Books are available in print, CD audiobooks, and downloadable formats compatible with mobile devices. There are more than 1.7 million items in the collection.
Items can be delivered right to your home – free of charge – using our Home Delivery service. Digital audiobooks, e-books, magazines/newspapers, movies, music and TV shows are conveniently available through online services like Libby (OverDrive), PressReader, Freegal Music, and hoopla. Multiple online databases, streaming video and Wi-Fi access are also available. Numerous technology classes are offered along with author signings, special events and programs throughout the year. The library is involved in several programs and partnerships to foster early reading success among elementary students and Orlando Public Library features “Club Central,” a hip area specifically for tweens and teens (ages 11-18).
