Orange County Deputy Sheriff Arrested for DUI

An Orange County deputy Sheriff  was arrested on Sunday night charged with driving under the influence.

Sergeant Kevin Meyer, a 23-year veteran with the Sheriff’s Office was arrested by Florida High Patrol officers, after he crashed his unmarked police vehicle late on Sunday night.

Meyer, who has been charged with DUI, was relieved of his law enforcement duties and reassigned to administrative work pending the outcome of an investigation by Florida Highway Patrol. An internal investigation would also be conducted by the Orange County Professional Standards Investigation.

Meyer has been employed with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office since May 1990 and was assigned most recently as a sergeant with the OCSO Tactical Unit.

OCSO declined to provide any details surrounded Meyer’s crash, but said there were no injuries.

A statement from the Sheriff’s Office also said, Meyer is currently suspended from his duties with the Tactical Unit.
