Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded this morning at 4:57am to a call regarding an altercation at the residence (reporter originally unclear as to address) from a witness who had fled the location to call 911 and ask for sheriff’s office assistance Upon responding to the area of the call and the witness location, deputies began to receive updated information on the exact location of the disturbance and found it to be 1405 Rose Blvd. Once deputies entered the residence they discovered an Hispanic male in his early 50’s who had been shot and died of the injury(ies) sustained.
Deputies cordoned off the area in order to conduct a death investigation/homicide to determine the circumstances leading to the victim’s death. Homicide investigators were called out to the scene and assumed the follow-up on the case. Investigators believe that the shooting at the residence may have been committed by two masked suspects who confronted the victim and were present when the witness fled the location to call for help. The witness continues to be interviewed for any possible information which may assist in this home invasion/homicide.
The name or identity of the victim is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
Homicide investigators are asking any other individuals who may have been in the area or may have seen anything at the time of this incident which could lead to locating possible suspects to please contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit or Crimeline at #1-800-423-8477.
The OCSO Forensics Unit/Crime Scene technicians continue to work with investigators to recover evidence from the scene.
