Orange County is conducting a Pedestrian/Bicycle Safety Study along segments of Alafaya Trail, University Boulevard and McCulloch Road around the UCF area. The study area is approximately 4.6 miles. Orange County officials are encouraging attendance at a May 18th public meeting in order to provide citizen input. There will be a work session at the Orange County Board of County Commissioners meeting on May 10th regarding this issue as well.
The purpose of the study is to identify pedestrian and bicycle crossing needs and develop viable safety improvements and enhancements to create opportunities for safe pedestrian/bicycle movement along and across the corridors. The County is hosting a public meeting to present the study findings and recommendations as well as to engage the public to obtain feedback on viable pedestrian/bicycle safety countermeasures.
