An Orange County Commissioner candidate is sponsoring a free food distribution event for the community.
“Given the significant need, we remain committed to doing our part in providing support,” candidate Lawanna Gelzer stated.
The drive-thru food distribution will be on Wednesday, July 1st at 10:30am, located at 2532 Silver Star Road in Orlando. It will be at the Daily Bread distribution center. It is a free event and open to the community.
Lawanna Gelzer previously sponsored a local food drive on June 17th, serving over 150 families. She promised to be back, and the July 1st food distribution was set.
Lawanna Gelzer is a longtime community advocate who is running for Orange County Commissioner in District 6. She has made affordability a major part of her campaign and this kind of event emphasizes the importance of that issue while taking action to help the Central Florida community that is struggling in the current economic situation.
