The Orange County School Board has agreed to the expansion of two charter schools, while allowing another to modify its academic goals.

Access Charter School, currently serving 100 students in the district, will expand its student population to 250, in line with increasing demand.

The Board also agreed that Hope Charter, a kindergarten through eight grade in Winter Garden, will now serve students in grades 5 and 6 at an off-campus location as Hope Charter’s existing facility is expanded. Hope Charter opened its doors in 2006.

Sunshine Charter High School, which serves high school students who are considered at risk of dropping out, low-performing, have too few credits, or have dropped out at one time, will be allowed to revise its academic goals.
