Orlando police say, the city is a little safer and neighborhoods more liveable, thanks to an operation conducted Thursday which led to 45 arrests.
Dubbed “Operation Thunder and Lightning,” the citywide operation involved members of Orlando Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Division, Fugitive Investigative Unit, Gang Enforcement Unit, Neighborhood Patrol Unit and the Parramore Heritage Bicycle Unit.
The operation yielded 28 physical arrests which helped detectives in the Criminal Investigation Division clear 59 property related warrants.
Another 17 physical arrests helped the Drug Enforcement Division clear 17 drug related warrants.
Operation Thunder and Lightning was in response to numerous drug and property crimes that have plagued Orlando over the past several months.
