Earlier this month, the Orlando Police Department conductied the swearing in ceremony for the third recruiting class of 2021. Nearly half of OPD’s new guardians represent minority communities, the department reported. The 15 newest officers were sworn in by Chief Orlando Rolón.
This was also the first recruit class to receive a 40-hour block of Crisis Intervention training during orientation, as mental health assistance has joined the many other important considerations we make, as we strive the to protect and serve all of the citizens in Orlando.
OPD is still looking to hire more police officers. If you want to be our next recruit, visit here to learn more.
