A 30-year-old mother of a newborn baby found dead in an apartment on Robert Trent Jones Drive on May 18, was arrested and charged with second degree murder last Friday, Orlando Police said.
According to OPD:
On May 18, officers responded to 2652 Robert Trent Jones Drive to check the well being of the occupants of an apartment. Upon their arrival officers were able to gain entry into the apartment and discovered a deceased newborn. There were no other people in the apartment at that time.
Upon investigating the case, the mother of the newborn, Leshawna Issac, 30 years, has been charged with 2nd degree murder. Issac was booked into the Orange County jail on May 28, after she turned herself in.
Bond for Issac has been set at $25,000.
