Orlando Police Department (OPD) officers responded to Glenridge Middle School early on Wednesday morning, in connection with a shooting threat made by one student to another. OPD found no weapons following a search of school property and the surrounding neighborhood.
According to OPD:
About 8:52am on Wednesday, Orlando Police Department detectives and patrol officers went to Glenridge Middle School, 2900 Upper Park Rd., in reference to a student who verbally threatened to shoot another student.
The alleged threat happened yesterday, but was not reported until this morning. OPD searched the school, along with the surrounding neighborhood and did not locate anything.
The student who allegedly made the threats, was located at his home, and was planning on not attending school today. He was brought to the school and the School Resource Officer will continue the investigation.
No weapons were seen nor located and no names are being released at this time pending the outcome of the investigation.
