OPD Detective Michael Moreschi Recognized by City Council

Orlando Police Detective Michael Moreschi was recognized today by the City Council for his expertise in solving difficult cases.

Moreschi, currently Corporal of the OPD Homicide Unit, was recently honored with the Award of Excellence for Career Achievement from the International Homicide Investigators Association (IHIA). 

The IHIA is an organization of homicide investigators from all over the world.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, in thanking Moreschi for his service, noted he is a nationally recognized expert in solving cases, and has now being internationally recognized.

Moreschi has investigated many cases, including several high-profile cases throughout his years at OPD. He also leads the department’s cold case unit.

Among the more notable cases, Moreschi was involved in the investigation of missing person Michelle Parker, which still remains unsolved.  He is also credited with helping to solve the Ocoee home invasion and killing of Alex Zaldivar.

“I am extremely proud of Detective Moreschi and his work exemplifies that of the Orlando Police Department,” said Chief Paul Rooney.
