At the City Council meeting on Monday, Orlando Police Chief, Paul Rooney was recognized for his 25 years of service to the force.
Rooney, who was appointed on June 11, earlier this year, as the 37th OPD Chief, was presented with a framed certificate of recognition by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.
A veteran of of the force, Dyer said Rooney had worked in about every division, was well-rounded and and able to hit the ground running since being appointed.
“Chief Rooney has been doing a fantastic job… and is an outstanding employee of the city,” Dyer said.
Dyer then presented Rooney with a framed certificate of recognition.
