Orange County Public Schools kindergarten registration for the 2026-27 school year is now open, and OCPS reminds parents it’s never too early to register new students.
OCPS encouraged parents to register early so children start school on time without the wait, as during early registration people can avoid long lines and save valuable time.
Kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year starts August 11, 2026 and OCPS said early registration guarantees your child will start school on the first day.
Early registration also gives principals the information they need to hire enough classroom teachers for this new group of students.
Orange County Public Schools kindergarten registration is now open. Each school has a designated attendance area; the family’s address determines which school the child will attend.
For more information, go to kindergarten.ocps.net. There is a school locator feature on that site – just click on “Find my School.” A parent or legal guardian can then go to that elementary school for registration. A child must be five years-old on or before September 1, 2026, to be registered.
Necessary information for OCPS registration:
- Proof of child’s age (usually a birth certificate)
- Proof of child’s immunization (DOH 680 form)
- Proof of child’s health examination within the last year
- Verification of residence
