After a national search, Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) is closer to appointing a new Chief Facilities Officer.
John Morris was chosen from a field of 48 applicants to lead the OCPS Facilities Department, a statement from OCPS said.
Morris, no stranger to Central Florida or the local construction scene, has tackled big projects, including the Amway Center and the Orange County Convention Center. He will be responsible not only for large construction projects, but also for small capital and operations and maintenance.
The school board will vote on Morris’ appointment during its regularly scheduled school board meeting on April 12.
Morris will be introduced to school board members in a meet and greet on Monday afternoon.
