OCPS Cancels After School Activities

All Orange County Public School activities and programs beginning at 6:00 p.m. today, have being canceled due to the forecast of inclement weather.

OCPS officials said, in addition to K-12 schools, the Career and Technical Education classes and Adult Education classes at OCPS facilities are being canceled on Tuesday evening.

Any programs or activities scheduled prior to 6:00 p.m. today, including “Extended Days”, will still take place.

The regularly-scheduled School Board Meeting will still take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

OCPS urges all school sites offering after school care to exercise caution with outdoor activities.

In addition to OCPS, Osceola, Brevard and Lake County schools have all canceled after school programs beginning at 6:00 pm, on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service Forecast Office has indicated Central Florida, including Orange County will likely experience squally-like weather which has the potential for severe thunderstorms and possibly tornadoes between the hours of 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and 3:00 a.m., Wednesday.
