Two Bikers Dead in Separate Crashes

An Orlando motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene of a single-vehicle crash early on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened on Goldenrod Road near Charlin Parkway just before 8:30 a.m.

Troopers say, 73-year-old Patricia Mullins of Orlando was traveling southbound on Goldenroad Road waiting to make a left turn to head eastbound onto Charlin Parkway.  As Mullins made the left turn she pulled into the direct path of Kyle Allen Morton, 29, who was traveling northbound on Goldenrod Rod, on a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle.

Eyewitnesses told troopers both drivers had a solid green light.

Morton was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead on the scene.

This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, troopers said.

And in a separate crash, another motorcyclist was killed on Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Edgewater Drive, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened near Webster Avenue just after 6:00 p.m.

Troopers say, a 2006 Infiniti driven by Madeline Siciliano, 36, initially stopped in the left turn lane of Edgewater Drive, began to turn onto Webster Avenue.  Siciliano failed to see Jorge Mesarina, 48, of Ocoee, heading southbound on Edgewater and traveled into the direct path of the 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle he was driving.

Mesarina attempted to avoid the collision, rapidly applied brakes and turned to the right, but ended up hitting the Infiniti.  He was thrown from the motorcycle after it struck the Infiniti.

Troopers also say, as Mesarina lay in the roadway, he was run over by a third driver, Leigh Luft, 48, who didn’t see him.

Mesarina was taken to Florida Hospital South where he was pronounced dead.

This crash remains under investigation and troopers say, charges are pending.
