Students at the Ocoee High School will demonstrate how they are using MacBook Air laptops for learning in the classroom on Thursday, part of a year-long pilot program prior to the introduction of a digital curriculum.
Ocoee High is one of seven schools in Orange County where an all-digital curriculum is being piloted in preparation for the 2015-2016 school year. Fifty percent of the district’s instructional dollars must be used to buy digital curricular materials as mandated by the state.
The new digital curricular materials seek to combine Internet connectivity, interactive and personalized content and other creative applications to enable collaboration with other students, while providing instantaneous feedback to the students and teachers.
The other six schools participating in this year’s pilot program are: Corner Lake, Hunter’s Creek and Liberty middle schools and Millenia, Pinewood and Wetherbee elementary.
