Nineteen Occupy Orlando demonstrators were arrested early on Saturday morning.

Orlando police said, the nineteen arrested were trespassing in the Senator Beth Johnson Park, a city park, after hours.

A statement from OPD said, the group has complied with everything that the City of Orlando has requested. However, on Saturday morning, a small group decided not to comply with the city ordinance and were in the park after hours.

The statement added that, “the City of Orlando still respects this group’s decision to exercise their freedom of speech, but we request that they adhere to the ordinances that are in place.”

Occupy Orlando is one of more than 200 groups nationwide, protesting the corporate greed and corruption that led to the 2008 financial collapse, as well as, the growing income disparity between rich and poor.  On Friday, the U.S. Social Security Administration said that 50 percent of U.S. workers made less than $26,364 last year.
